Bri-ah-na La-bus-kiss)
Hi, thank you for stopping by my site! I’m Brianna–but call me Bri, everyone does–a thirty-something writer who loves reading, history, hiking, adventuring and breweries. I also love stories, and love telling them through multiple genres.
My very first book that I published with a small house was a Regency-era romance novel. After that, I got a plot-bunny of an idea for a psychological thriller and it would not let me go. That became IT ENDS WITH HER, my first stand-alone mystery with Thomas & Mercer. I fell in love with the genre–and the way it allowed me to explore the darkest depths of humanity and at the same time find the light within it. Many of my books brush on dark topics such as self-harm, child abuse and violent tendencies, so please be gentle with yourself while choosing what to read.
Meanwhile, as a huge history nerd, I’ve always loved the WW2 era, and have devoured so many stories about unbelievable courage, hard choices, fear and evil and goodness and everything in between. When I heard about a program that helped get paperback books to soldiers stationed all over the world, I couldn’t help but write about it. Once I dove into research, I uncovered a wealth of joyful queer history from the 1920s and 1930s that I couldn’t help but include. My debut historical fiction novel THE LIBRARIAN OF BURNED BOOKS will be coming out in 2023 with William Morrow, and you can find more information about it on my Historical Bookshelf page.
Thank you so much for reading or just stopping by. Head over to my “Connect with Bri” page to find me on social media. I love hearing from my readers!
